- one hour boat ride to Picton
- four hour "layover"
- evening ferry arriving in Wellington at 11:00 pm
- night in a youth hostel
- early risers & breakfast
- 8 hour drive back home (lots of holiday traffic)
...but on the way home, everyone was well rested and had fun memories to laugh about - it felt much easier.
