On my last derby post I talked a little bit about my love for the movie Whip It and how I committed to giving derby a try if I ever had a REAL opportunity. There were a lot of stipulations associated with my definition of "real" - I didn't think it would ever happen.
In order for my secret derby dream to become a reality, I would need to almost quadruple the collective amount of unutilized free time we had together as a family - it didn't seem possible.
Lo and behold - three years later I found myself sitting on the front porch of my New Zealand home debating on how to utilize my newly procured allotment free time - hope.
My next door neighbor came to my door and invited me to a new recruit demo that she was going to in an hour... it was a roller derby miracle.
My derby story...
