Goat Island * Mangawhai Heads * Matheson Bay

The kids are still on holiday and Ben had a couple of days off, so we decided to spend some time exploring a few of the beaches near Auckland.

We spent two nights under mosquito nets at an artfully simple bach in Leigh, snorkeled at New Zealands first marine reserve - Goat Island. Boogie-boarded at Mangawhai Heads, had fish and chips near Omaha Beach and an evening walk at Matheson Bay.

It will likely be our last "holiday away" here in New Zealand. Bittersweet.
